Story of the channel
This channel has started its musical journey from 1st August of 1980. Popular radio person Rhett H. Walker was the key man to set up the channel; he was the first General Manager of the channel. John Amies was the first show host of the channel and the studio manager was Gary Collins. This popular FM channel has started the success journey from a grass root level and gradually crossed the success milestones. First broadcasting programs of the channel were Prisoner, Neighbors and the Holiday Island. Very initial two years were a struggling period for the channel; Melbourne people did not like the programs of the channel at this stage. They started gaining success with a new changed format and with the guidance of Graham Smith. At mid-1980, the channel introduced new Pop Rock format with new show presenters and started getting success. The studio of the channel is now located on Clarendon Street of South Melbourne.

Fifi Box, the renowned television and radio presenter is the most glamorous part of the channel and she hosts the breakfast shows with Brendan Fevola and Dave Thornton.
